Practical support when life feels difficult, stressful or stuck.
People come to counselling for many different reasons. You may be dealing with a clear problem such as a relationship breakdown, grief, family difficulties or workplace stress. You might be feeling anxious, flat, irritable or overwhelmed without being completely sure why.
You don’t need to be in crisis to speak with a counsellor. Sometimes it helps to talk things through with an experienced person outside your family, friendships or workplace.
You may be looking for help with:
You don’t need to know exactly what the problem is before making an appointment. Working that out can be part of counselling.
I work with adults from a wide range of backgrounds and life circumstances.
I welcome people from all walks of life and provide counselling that respects who you are and what matters to you. I take the time to understand each person as an individual rather than making assumptions based on labels or diagnoses.
Counselling can also involve honest conversations about difficult situations, behaviours and choices. My role is to approach these conversations respectfully while helping you look at what is happening and what may need to change.
Depending on what brings you in, counselling may help you:

I’m Jicinta Elliott, a registered clinical counsellor with more than 15 years of experience across private practice, community services, government programs and workplace wellbeing.
My counselling style is warm, straightforward and practical. I listen carefully and ask thoughtful questions to help you make sense of what’s happening, understand the factors involved, and identify what you would like to change.
I don’t use a one-size-fits-all approach or offer generic advice. Some sessions may involve making sense of past experiences, while others may focus on a current problem, an important decision, communication skills or practical ways of coping.
We will work together to identify what is useful and realistic for you.
I provide experienced professional support dedicated to your success.
