Grow your confidence, find new direction and reconnect with what excites you about counselling.
ACA clinical supervision with Jicinta Elliott is a space to work through challenges, develop your strengths and shape a counselling practice that feels purposeful, ethical and sustainable.
I provide in-person clinical supervision in Caboolture and counselling supervision online across Australia. Whether you want a fresh perspective on your client work, greater confidence, a specialisation that inspires you or clarity about what comes next, our sessions will focus on your development as a counsellor not only the clients you support.
Clinical supervision gives you an opportunity to step back from the immediate demands of counselling and think carefully about your work.
It can help you make sense of complex client presentations, review therapeutic relationships, work through ethical questions and consider how your own responses may be influencing the counselling process.
Supervision is not simply about meeting professional requirements. It can also help you develop your professional identity, recognise your strengths and make thoughtful decisions about the way you practise.
I provide individual supervision to counsellors at different stages of their careers, including those establishing themselves in the profession and experienced practitioners looking for an appropriately supportive and challenging reflective space.
Over more than 15 years of practice, I have built a strong professional reputation for thoughtful, highly skilled and clinically grounded counselling. My experience is supported by extensive professional training, ACA Level 4 registration and recognition as a Registered Supervisor with the Australian Counselling Association College of Supervisors (COS15344).
My career has taken me across government, health, community services, helplines, corporate wellbeing and private practice. I understand what it is like to work within organisations managing policies, documentation, risk, competing responsibilities, workplace expectations and the realities of supporting clients within complex systems.
I also genuinely love private practice. I understand both the freedom it offers and the responsibility involved in creating an ethical, sustainable and professionally rewarding practice. This includes finding the clients and specialisations that bring meaning to your work, developing confidence in your clinical decisions and learning how to work in a way that is effective without losing yourself in the process.
I believe clients deserve counsellors who are thoughtful, ethical and highly skilled at what they do. Supervision allows me to share the experience, clinical knowledge and practical insight I have developed throughout my career while helping other counsellors recognise their strengths, deepen their skills and become the practitioners they want to be.
My approach to clinical supervision is thoughtful, practical and collaborative.
I aim to provide a respectful space where you can speak honestly about your work, acknowledge uncertainty and explore concerns without feeling judged. You do not need to arrive with everything clearly understood or neatly organised.
Together, we can slow the situation down, consider different perspectives and identify what requires attention. I may offer reflection, constructive feedback, education or practical suggestions where these are helpful.
My role is not to tell you how to practise. It is to help you think deeply, recognise your existing knowledge and make informed decisions that are ethical, purposeful and appropriate to your professional context.
Good supervision should feel supportive while still allowing room for curiosity, accountability and professional challenge.
Clinical supervision can be about much more than managing difficult cases or meeting professional requirements. It can be a space to explore what genuinely interests you, develop your strengths and create a professional direction that feels meaningful and sustainable.
Our conversations may include:
Supervision may focus on an immediate clinical concern, a bigger idea you want to develop or the direction you would like your professional life to take. You do not need to arrive with everything worked out, we can explore it together.
